The short version. Competitor Intelligence is a pricing tool for licensed vehicle dealerships. It reads the public websites of the rival dealerships in your market and shows how your inventory and prices compare, so you know your price before a customer does.

What it does

It tracks vehicle prices across the dealership websites in your market: prices, stock and days on lot, with market summaries, price charts, unit-level detail, CSV exports and watchlists.

It replaces the round most desks know well: open a dozen dealer websites, filter each one to your models, note every price, and do it again a few days later because the first list is already stale.

How it works

  1. Build your lotPick the brands you carry, then the models on your lot. Watch a rival’s model too, even one you don’t stock. Your lineup is what every competitor is measured against.
  2. Select your searchDraw a radius around your store and every dealership it reaches joins your set, from a directory of 692 Western Canada rooftops. Paste any dealer’s website to add one by hand.
  3. Compare your pricePick a model and click through its trims. Every vehicle on every lot shows up at its price, yours marked, so you see where you stand at a glance. Reports, watchlists and CSV exports are there when you want them.

Where the data comes from

From the dealerships’ own public websites. We read public pages only, with a crawler that identifies itself and follows each site’s robots.txt. Every price is shown as the dealership published it, with the time we read it, and if a price can’t be verified, it isn’t shown.

If a dealership’s site couldn’t be read, your report names it as not covered, with the reason, so a gap never passes for an empty lot.

Who makes it

Competitor Intelligence is built and run by AddedHours, a software company in Calgary, Canada.

The time it gives back

Say you check 12 dealerships, three times a week, five minutes each. That is three hours a week by hand. With Competitor Intelligence the reading is done for you, and looking over the page takes about five minutes: 15 minutes a week.
